Mississippi 77, East Tennessee State 55: Marshall Henderson hit six three-pointers and scored a game-high 22 points, as the host Rebels rebounded from their first loss of the season with a victory over the Buccaneers.

Henderson finished 7-for-15 from the field and 6-for-13 from 3-point range for Mississippi (7-1), which saw its season-opening six-game winning streak end last weekend at Middle Tennessee State. Lester Wilson led the Buccaneers (2-6) with 14 points.

Trailing 16-13 with 9:48 remaining in the first half, the Rebels used a 15-1 run to build a 28-17 advantage on Martavious Newby’s 3-pointer with 2:42 left. Henderson and Jarvis Summers also hit 3-pointers during the surge.

Reginald Buckner scored 11 points for Mississippi, which hit 10 3-pointers. Murphy Holloway and Nick Williams each scored 10 points.

East Tennessee State shot 32.7 percent from the field (18-for-55). Mario Stramaglia and Jarvis Jones scored 11 points each for the Buccaneers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Henderson, a junior-college transfer in his first season at Mississippi, started the day leading the SEC and ranking seventh in the nation in 3-pointers made. … Buckner blocked three shots, moving past Brandon Wallace (South Carolina) and Erick Dampier (Mississippi State) into 11th place on the all-time SEC blocks list with 250.
