Virginia Tech 95, Iowa 79: Erick Green led the way with 24 points and Robert Brown added 18 as the Hokies pulled away late to beat the visiting Hawkeyes.

Jarell Eddie and C.J. Barksdale collected 11 points and seven rebounds apiece for Virginia Tech (6-0), which has won its first six games by an average of 14.7 points.

Roy Devyn Marble recorded 18 points, seven rebounds and as many assists and Aaron White chipped in 21 points and 10 boards for Iowa (5-2).

The schools shot an identical 15-for-30 from the floor in the first half but the Hokies went to the line more and took a 46-38 lead into the locker room. Green scored the first nine points of the second half before the Hawkeyes used a 16-2 burst to get back into the game.

Virginia Tech did not let Iowa get any closer, using a 12-4 spurt to push the lead back to double digits. Brown scored five points during the run and Green added a steal and transition dunk.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Virginia Tech has taken each of the three meetings between the schools, with all three coming during the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge. … The Hawkeyes dropped to 2-10 all-time during the event. They have not won since beating North Carolina State in 2005. … The Hokies will put their perfect record on the line against No. 17 Oklahoma State on Saturday.
