No. 22 Michigan State 69, Texas Southern 41:
Freshman guard Gary Harris scored a game-high 19 points and the Spartans cruised past the visiting Tigers in the opening contest of the Spartan Showcase.

Harris, who connected on 7-of-10 shots from the field, scored 14 in the first half as Michigan State (2-1) raced to a 40-19 halftime lead.

Sophomore Branden Dawson added 13 points, six rebounds and five steals for the Spartans.

Leading just 23-17 with 6:15 remaining in the opening half, the Spartans finished on a 17-2 run to bury Texas Southern (1-3).

Fred Sturdivant scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Raymond Penn also had 10 points for the Tigers.

NOTEBOOK: Michigan State is now 46-0 all-time under head coach Tom Izzo in November home games...Texas Southern, which has made 45 percent of its field goal attempts this season from 3-point range, hoisted 31 of its 57 tries from behind the arc. ... The Spartans continue the round-robin tournament by hosting Boise State on Tuesday.
