J.J. Moore scored 16 points and the host Panthers overcame an 18-point second-half deficit to survive in overtime against the Golden Grizzlies.

Pittsburgh (4-0) trailed 48-30 with 11:34 left in regulation, but tied the game at 58-58 on a pair of free throws James Robinson with 10 seconds left. In overtime, the Panthers outscored Oakland 14-4.

Pittsburgh pulled within 58-56 on Tray Woodall’s layup with 28 seconds remaining. After the teams swapped turnovers, Robinson was fouled and hit the go-ahead free throws. Robinson finished with 14 points and Dante Taylor added 10 points.

Corey Petros scored 19 points to lead Oakland (1-3). Oakland used an 8-0 run late in the first half to open up a 31-17 advantage and led 34-20 at halftime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oakland nearly sprung another upset of a BCS-conference team. The Golden Grizzlies have defeated Oregon and Tennessee twice in each in the past five seasons. … The Panthers shot only 41.7 percent. Pittsburgh came in fifth in the nation in field-goal percentage at 56.4.
