Southern Methodist 64, Texas Christian 61: Jalen Jones hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points as the Mustangs never trailed the host Horned Frogs.

Ryan Manuel added 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting and five assists for the Mustangs (2-0), who led by as many as 11 in the second half.

Garlon Green led Texas Christian (2-1) with 20 points and Jarvis Ray added a career-high 14.

The Horned Frogs got within three several times in the final minutes, including Ray's tip-in with seven seconds left. SMU would miss four straight free throws but TCU's Kyan Anderson couldn't get off a clean 3-pointer at the buzzer.

TCU cut the lead to one late in the first half but the Mustangs finished on a 8-2 run for a 33-26 halftime lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Frogs junior forward Amric Fields left with a left knee injury 12 seconds into the game ... It was Texas Christians' third loss in its past 20 home games ... Southern Methodist had 17 turnovers but scored 27 points off TCU's 16 turnovers.
