No. 9 Duke 75, No. 3 Kentucky 68: Seth Curry overcame a sore leg to record a game-high 23 points off the bench as the Blue Devils staved off the Wildcats in the Champions Classic in Atlanta.

Mason Plumlee scored 18 points before fouling out and Rasheed Sulaimon shook off his early shooting woes to drill a trio of 3-pointers for ninth-ranked Duke (2-0).

Alex Poythress had a team-high 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting and added eight rebounds for third-ranked Kentucky (1-1).

Curry made a pair of jumpers to extend the Blue Devils' lead to 64-52 with 6:30 left, but Julius Mays highlighted Kentucky's 9-0 run to trim the deficit to three with 3:20 left. Undaunted, Curry added six more points to seal the win.

After setting up back-to-back 3-pointers by Sulaimon and Quinn Cook, Plumlee committed his fourth foul and was sent to the bench with Duke nursing a six-point lead with 16:05 remaining. The Blue Devils actually extended their cushion to 11 before Plumlee re-entered the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The teams were meeting for the first time since the Jimmy V Classic in 2001. Kentucky has won 11 of 20 meetings, although Duke has won six of the last seven. ... The Wildcats' Ryan Harrow, who is a transfer from North Carolina State, did not travel with the team as he battles the flu. ... Sulaimon was 3-for-14 from the field.
