Kentucky 87, Iowa State 71: Marquis Teague scored a career-high 24 points as the Wildcats blew open a close game in the second half to advance to the Sweet 16.

Doron Lamb added 16 points and hit five 3-pointers for top-seeded Kentucky (34-2), which will play Indiana in the South Regional semifinals Friday in Atlanta. Indiana handed the Wildcats their only regular season loss, 73-72 on Dec. 10.

For the second time in two NCAA games, the Wildcats used a dominant stretch to take control. Tied at 42 with the Cyclones four minutes into the second half, Kentucky used a 20-2 run over the next six minutes to put it away.

Darius Miller, who finished with 19 points off the bench, scored 10 points during the spurt. Miller’s two free throws with 10:24 to go ended the run and gave Kentucky a 62-44 advantage.

Anthony Davis finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Wildcats. Terrence Jones added 11 rebounds.

Royce White had 23 points and nine rebounds before fouling out with 4:32 remaining for No. 8 seed Iowa State (23-11).

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Down 38-27 at halftime, the Cyclones used a 15-4 run to draw even before the Wildcats pulled away. … Kentucky shot 55.4 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range. … The Cyclones finished 3 for 22 from 3-point range. … The Wildcats are the only Final Four team from last year still alive in the tournament.
