Saint Mary’s 83, San Francisco 78: Clint Steindl scored a season-high 19 points, including six 3-pointers, and the No. 21 Gaels rallied in the second half to advance to the West Coast Conference tournament final.

Down four at halftime, Saint Mary’s (26-5, 15-2) took its first lead of the game with 12 minutes to play and never trailed again. The Gaels will play Gonzaga in Monday's championship game.

Cody Doolin scored a career-high 28 points for San Francisco (20-13), which was playing its third game in as many days. Doolin, who entered the game averaging 8.7 points, was 10 of 16 shooting, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc.

Rob Jones scored 11 points and grabbed 13 boards for Saint Mary’s, which outrebounded the Dons 29-20. Five players scored in double figures for the Gaels, including Matthew Dellavedova (17), Brad Waldow (12), and Jorden Page (10).

Perris Blackwell scored seven straight points for the Dons in the span of one minute to cut the Gaels' lead to four with 38 seconds left, but Saint Mary's hit six of its last eight free throws to end San Francisco's tournament run.

Blackwell scored 19 points and Rashad Green added 12 for the Dons, who were looking to advance to the WCC final for the first time since winning in 1998.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Both teams shot better than 52 percent from the field, with Saint Mary's shooting 26 of 48 (54.2 percent). ... Steindl’s streak of 28 straight free throws ended with a missed shot midway through the second half. He finished three short of the school record set by Dan Galvin in 1947-48. ... Saint Mary’s guard Stephen Holt missed his fourth straight game with a knee injury. … After shooting 44.9 percent from 3-point range in the first two rounds of the tournament, San Francisco was 8 of 20 (40 percent) against the Gaels. … Saint Mary’s improved to 88-8 over the last four seasons when scoring 70 points or more.
