UCLA 75, Washington 69: David Wear’s putback of a missed shot by Josh Smith with 45 seconds left gave UCLA the lead for good and the Bruins spoiled Washington’s hopes of clinching the outright conference title in the Pac-12 regular-season finale for both teams.

Lazeric Jones led UCLA with 20 points including a pair of crucial free throws with three seconds to play. Travis Wear had 16 points for the Bruins, who won for the 13th time in their last 14 home games. The Bruins have won two straight since Sports Illustrated reported the program being in turmoil.

UCLA trailed most of the game, but David Wear put the Bruins ahead for good 71-69. Washington’s Darnell Gant missed a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left and the Huskies never got off another shot.

The Huskies (21-9, 14-4) clinched a share of the conference title on Thursday after defeating USC. C.J. Wilcox led Washington, which had its five-game winning halted, with 22 points. Terrence Ross added 18 and Tony Wroten had 14.

Washington can still clinch the outright title if Stanford defeats California on Sunday.

Game Notebook: Wilcox had 15 points in the first half as Washington led 47-44 at the break. …The best UCLA can finish is sixth place in the conference. …Washington has not won an outright conference title since 1954.
