MICHIGAN STATE 77, PENN STATE 57: Draymond Green recorded 23 points and 12 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season as the Spartans held off a second-half surge by the Nittany Lions and improved to 15-0 at home.

Michigan State (19-5, 8-3 Big Ten) held Penn State (10-15, 2-10) to 21.7 percent shooting in the first half as they raced out to a 33-19 lead at the break.

Michigan State’s offense stalled after Green hit a 3-pointer to extend its advantage to 22 points as Penn State caught fire and scored 23 of the next 29 points to close to within 52-47 on a jumper by Jermaine Marshall with 9:18 remaining. The Spartans, though, pulled away as they limited the Nittany Lions to five points – all by Tim Frazier – over the next seven minutes as they stretched the lead back to a game-high 23 points.

Frazier led Penn State with 19 points and seven assists, but committed six turnovers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The teams combined to miss their first 14 shots until Keith Appling hit a layup at the 15:13 mark of the first half. Penn State needed 7:38 to make its first basket. ... The Spartans have won 14 of their 15 home games this season by double figures.
