Brad Waldow had 19 points and 11 rebounds as No. 20 Saint Mary’s extended its winning streak to 11 with an impressive 80-66 victory over host BYU on Saturday.

Clint Steindl scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half for Saint Mary’s (21-2, 10-0 West Coast), which shot 51 percent from the field and completed a regular-season sweep of the Cougars (18-6, 6-3).

Playing before a sellout crowd at the Marriott Center, BYU trailed by as many as 23 early in the second half. The Cougars pulled within nine with 3:40 to play, but the Gaels drew clear in the final minutes.

Noah Hartsock and Matt Carlino scored 15 points apiece and Brandon Davies added 14 for BYU, which lost consecutive home games for the first time since 2005. The physical game featured 48 total fouls and 42 turnovers.

Saint Mary’s Rob Jones had 13 points and nine rebounds, but top scorer Matthew Dellavedova was held to only 10 points on 1-of-5 shooting.

BYU, which lost 98-82 at Saint Mary's on Dec. 29, shot 41 percent from the field, including 2 of 13 from 3-point range.
