Ricardo Ratliffe had a career-high 27 points, and No. 5 Missouri picked up a big 89-88 road victory at third-ranked Baylor on Saturday.

Ratliffe, who entered the game as the nation’s leader in field-goal percentage, shot 11-of-14 from the floor and provided the inside presence the Tigers needed against the much taller Bears.

Missouri led by as many as 12 in the second half and for all of the final minutes, but Baylor hit two 3-pointers in the last 10 seconds that led to the misleading final score.

Phil Pressey added 18 points and seven assists for Missouri (18-1, 5-1 Big 12), which moved into sole possession of second place in the Big 12 behind Kansas.

Freshman Quincy Miller scored a career-high 29 points and Pierre Jackson had 20 points and 15 assists for the Bears (17-2, 4-2 Big 12), who dropped their second in a row after starting the season with a school-record 17-game winning streak.

Baylor had the huge size advantage, but it was the Tigers who dominated the glass in the first half, totaling 10 offensive rebounds and 14 second-chance points en route to a 39-35 halftime edge.

The two teams were neck-and-neck after halftime until Pressey found Ratliffe wide open for a layup that capped a 10-2 run and made it 68-58 with eight minutes remaining.

Later, Michael Dixon found Kim English for a 3-pointer from the left wing that stretched Missouri’s lead to 76-64 with 5:10 left.
