Garrett Sim scored 20 points and Devoe Joseph added 16 to help Oregon to a 65-62 victory over visiting USC in Pac-12 play on Thursday.

Sim made three of his four 3-point baskets in the second half as the Ducks (14-5, 5-2) won their third consecutive game.

USC’s Maurice Jones tallied 22 points but missed a game-tying 3-pointer with 6.2 seconds left as the Trojans (5-14, 0-6) suffered their seventh straight defeat, matching the school’s longest skid since 2003.

Dewayne Dedmon added 18 points for USC, which gave Oregon quite a scare while scoring over 60 points for just the second time in its last 12 games.

The Ducks led 53-45 after a 3-pointer by Joseph with 7:53 remaining but USC rallied to within 61-60 on two free throws by Dedmon with 40.2 seconds left.

Sim and Joseph each hit two free throws down the stretch as the Ducks avoided what would have been a disastrous defeat.

Olu Ashaolu added 11 points for Oregon.

USC played without forward Aaron Fuller, who missed the game with a shoulder injury and will reportedly undergo season-ending surgery next week. Fuller is second on the Trojans in scoring at 10.6 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 5.9.
