Kris Joseph scored 20 points to lead five players in double figures as top-ranked Syracuse rolled to an 87-68 Big East victory at DePaul.

The Orange (15-0, 2-0) took the lead for good at 17-9 with a burst of eight straight points and then finished the first half with a 21-8 surge to go into the locker room with a 45-26 cushion. Joseph poured in 13 points before the break.

Syracuse shot 60 percent (34-for-57) from the floor, generating easy baskets with a defense that forced 17 turnovers and blocked eight shots. The Blue Demons (9-4, 0-1) struggled from the outside, making just 3-of-18 3-point attempts.

C.J. Fair finished with 16 points for the Orange, making all six of his field-goal tries. Cleveland Melvin led DePaul with 21 points and eight rebounds.
