Maurice Jones scored 18 of his game-high 25 points in the first half as Southern Cal’s offense broke out of a season-long slump with an 83-59 victory over visiting Texas Christian on Monday.

Southern Cal (5-7) entered the game averaging 54.2 points, but the Trojans put together their most complete game while shooting 28-of-55 (50.9 percent) from the field and scoring more than 66 points for the first time this season.

Hank Thorns scored 12 points and Craig Williams added 11 for TCU (7-4), which committed 20 turnovers and shot 20-of-49 (40.8 percent).

Connell Crossland had 11 rebounds for the Horned Frogs, who were aiming for their first three-game road winning streak since 2007-08.

Dewayne Dedmon had 14 points and six rebounds for Southern Cal, which routed an opponent for only the second time this season. Eight of the Trojans’ 12 games have been decided by seven points or fewer.

Southern Cal, which hosts Kansas on Thursday, received nine points and 11 rebounds from Aaron Fuller. Byron Wesley and Alexis Moore added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
