Devoe Joseph scored 18 points in his Oregon debut to help the Ducks notch a 74-70 victory over visiting Fresno State on Saturday.

Garrett Sim scored 17 points and E.J. Singler added 14 as the Ducks (5-2) defeated the Bulldogs (4-6) for the fourth consecutive time.

Jonathan Wills scored 20 points and Jerry Brown and Tyler Johnson added 13 apiece for Fresno State.

Joseph is a mid-semester transfer from Minnesota and he made an impact by scoring 12 straight Oregon points during a four-minute-plus span of the second half.

Sim made all five of his field goal attempts, including three 3-pointers, as Oregon shot 56.3 percent from the field. Sim hit the go-ahead 3-pointer which started an 11-2 run that propelled Oregon to a 61-54 lead with 7:31 remaining.

Joseph hit consecutive 3-point baskets to end the surge and to begin his run of 12 consecutive Ducks’ points.

Fresno State couldn’t get closer than three points in the final minutes.

Bulldogs star Kevin Olekaibe had only four points on 2-of-9 shooting. He entered the contest with a 21.6 average.

Oregon led by as many as nine points in the first half before Fresno State rallied with a 15-2 run to take a 28-24 advantage on a three-point play by Wills with 5:05 left in the half.

The Ducks led 34-32 at intermission.
