Draymond Green scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Michigan State to an easy 72-40 win over Eastern Michigan on Sunday.

Michigan State (4-2) picked up its fourth straight victory after opening the season with back-to-back losses. Eastern Michigan (4-2) lost in its first meeting with a Big Ten school since the 1998-99 season.

A dunk from Branden Dawson sparked a 28-11 run for Michigan State in the second half, who thrived on transition buckets and forced 18 Eastern Michigan turnovers. Michigan State also had a hard time keeping track of the ball, coughing it up 16 times.

Spartan point guard Keith Appling rewarded coach Tom Izzo’s confidence with his best all-around performance of the season, scoring 11 points and dishing out five assists. Appling aggressively pushed the tempo and picked up five of his points at the foul line.

J.R. Sims was the lone double-figure scorer for the Eagles, scoring 14 points. The Eagles shot just 28.6 percent from the field and Darrell Lampley, the MAC Player of the Week, scored only three points off one-of-six shooting.

Michigan State takes on No. 20 Florida State as part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday.
