Terrell Stoglin scored 24 points as Maryland snapped a two-game losing streak with a 73-67 victory over Florida Gulf Coast on Friday.

The sophomore made 5-of-13 from the field and 12-of-21 from the free throw line and also added four rebounds.

James Padgett was 4-of-5 shooting and scored 11 points for the Terrapins (3-2).

Florida Gulf Coast (2-4) got as close as 70-66 with 48 seconds left on a layup by Brett Comer, who led the Eagles with 16 points.

The Eagles had a chance to get closer after Stoglin missed a pair of free throws with 47 seconds left, but Maryland’s Nick Faust came up with a steal and the Terrapins were able to ride out the storm.

Florida Gulf Coast, whose roster includes seven freshmen, also got 12 points from Bernard Thompson and 11 from Sherwood Brown. Chase Fieler had a game-high eight rebounds.
