Mississippi overcame cold shooting, pulling away from Louisiana-Monroe 60-38 in Oxford, Miss.

The Rebels broke the game open in the final seven minutes of the first half. Leading 21-10, Ole Miss scored 12 of the final 13 points of the half, carrying a 33-11 lead into the locker room.

For the night, Ole Miss shot just 33.3 percent. Terrance Henry led the Rebels with 15 points. Nick Williams added 13 points. Murphy Holloway finished with 17 rebounds.

Williams hit as many shots from the field in the first half (four) as the Warhawks, Louisiana-Monroe shot just 16.7 percent in the first half. The margin likely would’ve been much wider in the first half had Ole Miss not committed nine turnovers and missed 10 of its 13 3-point attempts.

Fred Brown led Louisiana-Monroe with seven points.

Ole Miss plays host to Grambling State on Monday. Louisiana-Monroe plays its home opener Monday against Indiana State.
