Top-ranked Ohio State locked up the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament by knocking off Penn State 71-60 Sunday in the Big Ten tournament final in Indianapolis.

William Buford had 16 points, and Jared Sullinger added 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Buckeyes (32-2) to their second straight Big Ten tournament title.

With the NCAA tournament expanding to 68 teams, Penn State (19-14) is in the large group of bubble teams that will be keeping a close eye on the 6 p.m. release of the bracket.

The Buckeyes had trouble shaking the deliberate Nittany Lions early on but took a 29-23 lead into halftime on a Jon Diebler 3-pointer at the buzzer. They pulled away in the second half, taking a 17-point lead on back-to-back jumpers by Buford with eight minutes to play. Diebler joined Buford and Sullinger in double figures with 15.

Talor Battle led the Nittany Lions with 22 points, and Jeff Brooks added 19.
