Gay drove into the lane and hit a running 10-footer to put the second-seeded Aztecs (31-2) into Saturday’s final against Brigham Young.

Tre’Von Willis missed a last-second 3-point shot for third-seeded UNLV (24-8).

UNLV’s Oscar Bellfield committed a costly turnover on an errant pass to set up the sequence in which Gay hit the winner.

UNLV battled back from a 12-point second-half deficit to tie the score at 66 on Stanback’s basket with 4:05 left.
