Ben Hansbrough celebrated senior night with 30 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 7-of-10 from 3-point range, as No. 7 Notre Dame set a school record with 20 3-pointers en route to a 93-72 victory over No. 19 Villanova on Monday.

Tim Abromaitis added 30 points and went 9 of 13 from beyond the arc and Hansbrough completed his final home game with 10 assists and five steals for the Fighting Irish (24-5, 13-4 Big East), who pulled within one-half game of Pittsburgh for first place in the Big East and clinched a double-bye in the conference tournament.

The Irish matched a Big East record with 11 3-pointers in the first half, running the lead to 25 points on Scott Martin’s 3-pointer late in the half and taking a 47-27 lead into the break. Hansbrough and Abromaitis led the charge with four apiece from beyond the arc.

A 14-0 run that featured three more 3-pointers early in the second half pushed the lead over 30 points and put the game away. Notre Dame finished 20 of 32 from beyond the arc.

Corey Fisher scored 22 points for the Wildcats (21-9, 9-8), who have dropped three straight to fall into 11th place in the Big East.
