Jimmer Fredette scored 25 points and led a barrage of 3-point shots to propel No. 7 Brigham Young to an 80-67 victory at No. 4 San Diego State on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (27-2, 13-1 Mountain West) led throughout, hitting 14 of 24 3-pointers (58.3 percent) en route to sweeping the season series.

San Diego State (27-2, 12-2) got as close as 47-44 with 13:13 remaining, but Fredette started an 8-2 run with a 3-pointer and the Aztecs never got closer than six again.

Charles Abouo added 18 points for Brigham Young, joining Fredette with four 3-pointers. Noah Hartsock was 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, finishing with 15 points.

Kahwi Leonard led San Diego State with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Aztecs grabbed 15 offensive rebounds but only turned them into seven second-chance points.
