Trailing 76-75 with five minutes left, two Delaney free throws put the Hokies ahead 77-76. A Delaney jumper, a Green 3-pointer and two more Delaney free throws gave Virginia Tech an 84-76 lead with 1:14 to go.

Maryland pulled within 84-79 on Dino Gregory’s 3-pointer with 1:11 remaining. Stoglin brought the Terps within 87-83 on two free throws with 33 seconds left, but four Delaney free throws in the final 27 seconds put it away for the Hokies.
