Cliff Tucker scored 21 points and Maryland used a second-half surge to finish off a 74-55 victory at Wake Forest on Wednesday night.

The Demon Deacons had cut a 14-point halftime deficit to 46-40, with 12:03 left before the Terrapins (11-5, 1-2 ACC) put together a 15-0 run over the next 3 1/2 minutes to take control.

Maryland shot just 38.2 percent from the floor and missed 16 of its 33 free throws, but it held Wake Forest to 31.7 percent shooting (19 of 60) and forced 18 turnovers.

Jordan Williams added 13 points and 15 rebounds for Maryland, while Travis McKie led Wake Forest (7-10, 0-2 ACC) with 13 points and 10 boards.

The Terrapins step away from conference play Saturday when they travel to No. 7 Villanova.
