Led by the guard tandem of Cervante Burrell and Sterling Carter, Seattle University rallied past Oregon State 83-80 Wednesday night at the KeyArena in Seattle.

Burrell scored a team-high 22 points, and had five assists and five rebounds. Carter scored 20 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Skyhawks rallied from a 64-52 deficit in the second half and held on.

The Beavers (1-1) had a chance to send the game into overtime, but Carter stole the ball from Calvin Haynes to clinch the win.

Oregon State led by 12 with 11:17 left, but the Skyhawks finished with a 31-16 run.

Sophomore guard Jared Cunningham paced the Beavers with 19 points and five steals. Haynes and Omari Johnson scored 18 and 15 points, respectively, for Oregon State, which was looking to avenge a 99-48 home loss against the Skyhawks last season. It was the worst Oregon State home loss ever, and tied for the biggest in school history.

Seattle forward Aaron Broussard also had a strong game for the Skyhawks with nine points, 12 rebounds and four steals.

The Skyhawks (1-3) have a busy week ahead. They'll play three straight days, starting with a road contest against Louisiana Tech (2-1) Friday.

Up next for the Beavers is a home game Sunday against Texas Southern (0-2).
