Nuggets 123, Warriors 116:
J.J. Hickson collected 13 points and a career-high 24 rebounds and came through down the stretch as visiting Denver fought off Golden State.

Nate Robinson scored 14 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and Ty Lawson contributed 22 points and 11 assists as the Nuggets won for the sixth time in seven games. Wilson Chandler scored 22 points and Randy Foye added 21 on 8-of-12 shooting as Denver shot 54.2 percent.

David Lee recorded 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Warriors, who suffered their second loss in the last 13 games. Stephen Curry scored 24 points and Klay Thompson added 21 for Golden State.

The Warriors pulled to within 94-93 with 9:11 remaining before the Nuggets buried 3-pointers on three straight possessions, capped by Robinson’s transition launch from the right wing after Faried had blocked Curry at the other end. Golden State kept it close from the free-throw line but could not cool off Robinson, who scored Denver’s next six points before Hickson’s driving dunk snapped the string and left the Nuggets with a 111-105 advantage.

Robinson made it an eight-point lead before the Warriors caught fire and took a 116-115 edge on a pair of free throws by Lee that capped an 11-2 run with 1:13 left. Hickson hit a floater in the lane to put Denver back in front, stole the ball from Curry on the ensuing possession before racing down for the transition dunk and grabbed an offensive rebound in front of Lawson’s clinching free throws.

Foye and Lawson did most of the damage early as the Nuggets took a 35-32 lead after the first quarter. Foye’s 3-pointer with just under four minutes left in the second made it an eight-point bulge and Denver took a 65-58 lead into the break.

Harrison Barnes knocked down two 3-pointers and Curry added another in a 13-6 run that evened it at 80, and Barnes’ jumper with 2:06 left in the third gave Golden State an 82-81 lead. Robinson hit a 3-pointer and Evan Fournier beat the buzzer with a half-court heave to send Denver into the final stanza up 91-82.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Nuggets went 12-for-24 from long range while the Warriors struggled to 9-for-28 from beyond the arc, including Curry’s 4-of-13. … Andrew Bogut added 10 points and 10 rebounds but Hickson’s effort helped Denver to a 46-41 advantage on the glass. … The Warriors traded G Toney Douglas in a three-team deal that will bring G Jordan Crawford and G MarShon Brooks to Golden State from Boston.
