76ers 89, Kings 80:
Thaddeus Young racked up 23 points and tied a career high with 15 rebounds as host Philadelphia held off a late charge to beat Sacramento for the eighth time in the last nine meetings.

Jrue Holiday added 21 points, six rebounds and seven assists and Nick Young scored 20 points for the 76ers, who have won consecutive games for the first time since winning three straight from Nov. 25-30. Philadelphia has won three its first four contests during an eight-game homestand.

Tyreke Evans scored 29 points and Isaiah Thomas added 24 for the Kings, who have lost three of the first four games on their season-long six-game road trip to fall to 5-19 away from home. Sacramento has lost six of seven overall.

Sacramento went 6-for-19 from the field in the second quarter, as Philadelphia outscored the Kings 27-16 during the period to take a 54-39 halftime lead. The margin went as wide as 19 points on Nick Young's three-point play with 5:43 left in the half.

The Kings came all the way back to take a 73-72 lead — their only lead of the game — with 10:34 left when Thomas was fouled shooting a 3-pointer and made all three free throws, but the Sixers answered with a quick 10-0 run to regain control and led the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Kings, who play at New York on Saturday, dropped to 2-8 this season in the first game of back-to-back sets. … Philadelphia SG Jason Richardson missed his sixth consecutive game with fluid on his left knee. … Sacramento fell to 2-6 this season when Thomas scores 20 or more points.
