Timberwolves 114, Mavericks 106 (OT): Nikola Pekovic scored 21 points as host Minnesota outlasted Dallas in overtime and posted its season-high fourth straight win.

Pekovic shot 10-for-21 and was involved in seven points during Minnesota's 12-0 run that bridged the final minute of regulation and the first 2 1/2 minutes of overtime. He hit the tying layup with 49.6 seconds remaining, won the jump ball that led to rookie Alexey Shved's dunk and converted a 3-point play with 2:32 remaining in the extra period that gave the Timberwolves a 10-point lead.

Shved added 18 points and Derrick Williams contributed 16 for Minnesota, which played without forward Kevin Love (illness) but welcomed back point guard Ricky Rubio. In his season debut, Rubio played 18 minutes off the bench and had eight points and nine assists.

Derek Fisher scored 20 points before fouling out and O.J. Mayo also scored 20 for Dallas, which missed its first seven shots in overtime. Elton Brand chipped in 15, including a tip-in with 1:02 left in regulation that gave the Mavericks a 102-100 lead.

Dallas stormed back from a 15-point deficit in the third quarter and took its first lead since 6:57 remaining in the second on Fisher's four-point play with 2:50 remaining. After the teams traded foul shots and baskets, both teams had a chance to win in regulation but Mayo missed a fadeway with 35.9 seconds left and Rubio missed a 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota played without F Josh Howard (hyperextended right knee). ... Fisher scored 20 points for the first time since Dec. 20, 2008, when he had 27 points for the Lakers. ... Dallas has dropped seven straight overtime games, including a double-overtime contest in Boston on Wednesday.
