JAZZ 103, ROCKETS 91: Gordon Hayward scored a season-high 29 points and visiting Utah snapped Houston's four-game winning streak.

Paul Millsap added 21 points and Al Jefferson had 15 and eight rebounds as the Jazz won their second straight to inch closer in the playoff race.

Goran Dragic had 19 points and seven assists to pace the Rockets, who fell into a tie with Dallas and Denver for sixth place in the Western Conference - 1 1/2 games ahead of ninth-place Utah.

The Jazz started to take control in the third quarter, going on an 11-2 run to extend its lead to 78-60 with two minutes remaining.

Houston went without a field goal for the final seven minutes of the third but scored 11 points off three throws to get within 80-67 entering the fourth.

Kyle Lowry's 3-pointer pulled the Rockets within 87-83 midway through the final quarter, but Hayward scored five straight points to restore the lead to 10.

Millsap had 12 points in the second quarter as the Jazz hit 12 of 17 shots to open a 10-point halftime lead at 56-46. Hayward had a game-high 17 points at the half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah was without guards Earl Watson and C.J. Miles due to injury. The Jazz signed G Blake Ahearn to a 10-day contract Monday in order to have 10 healthy bodies. ... Lowry had a second straight strong performance coming off the bench after a 15-game absence. He scored 14 of his 15 points in the second half. ... Houston was 4 of 20 on 3-point attempts.
