Channing Frye scored 20 points and ignited a third-quarter blitz as the surging Phoenix Suns pulled away for a 102-88 road victory over the outmanned Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.

Mickael Pietrus added 20 points and eight rebounds in his first start and Steve Nash had 13 assists for the Suns, who are 4-1 on this trip, which concludes Sunday in Oklahoma City. Pietrus started in place of Vince Carter, who was out after colliding head on with Frye on Wednesday night against Boston.

Phoenix (32-28) has won 10 of its last 14 and is one-half game behind Memphis for the eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Corey Maggette had 21 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Bucks (23-37), who played a second straight game without injured big men Andrew Bogut, Drew Gooden, and Ersan Ilyasova. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute also missed his second straight with an illness.

Frye kept Phoenix in the game over the first 24 minutes with four 3-pointers, 14 points and seven rebounds. Phoenix trailed 48-45 at the break, but Frye contributed a three-point play and 3-pointer during a 19-0 run over a five-minute span. That provided a 64-53 lead with just under six minutes left in the third.

A three-point play by Marcin Gortat pushed the margin to 17 with 2:30 to go in the quarter, and Phoenix maintained a healthy advantage the rest of the night.

Brandon Jennings scored 16 points but shot just 5 of 17 for Milwaukee, which lost for the 11th time in 15 games.
