Wilcox rebounded Will Bynum’s miss and put in the follow with 51 seconds left to break a tie as Detroit (25-44) won its second straight.

Amar’e Stoudemire and Toney Douglas scored 20 points apiece for New York (35-33).

The Knicks scored just one point over the final three minutes. Detroit’s Rodney Stuckey tied the score on a layup with 1:28 remaining prior to Wilcox’s decisive hoop.

Charlie Villanueva scored 14 points and Wilcox finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Pistons.

Douglas made 4-of-8 3-point attempts one night after matching the franchise record of nine 3s against the Memphis Grizzlies. He also had 11 assists and Shawne Williams added 17 points for New York, but Carmelo Anthony had just six on 2-of-12 shooting.

The Pistons led 65-57 after Prince’s basket with 6:30 left in the third quarter. But New York scored 17 straight points, with Douglas finishing the run with a 16-footer to grab a 74-65 edge with 1:45 left in the quarter.

New York stretched the lead to 11 points earlier in the fourth quarter before Detroit responded with a 13-2 run. Villanueva hit back-to-back 3-pointers to end the spurt and tie the game at 83.
