Willy Adames homered, doubled and drove in three runs as the Milwaukee Brewers snapped the visiting Cincinnati Reds' five-game winning streak with a 7-3 victory on Friday.

Joey Wiemer added a two-run home run and Owen Miller had three hits and an RBI for Milwaukee, which outhit Cincinnati 14-4 and moved within a game of the first-place Reds in the National League Central.

Corbin Burnes (7-5) allowed two runs on three hits over six innings. He walked four and struck out six.

Joey Votto hit a two-run homer and drove in all three runs for Cincinnati, which had gone 23-6 since losing the first three of a four-game series against the Brewers in early June.

Milwaukee led 7-2 before the Reds scored a run in the ninth on Votto's RBI double off Tyson Miller, who was replaced by closer Devin Williams. After Tyler Stephenson drew a two-out walk to load the bases, Williams struck out Nick Senzel for his 19th save.

Cincinnati starter Andrew Abbott (4-1) yielded six runs on nine hits over 4 1/3 innings after giving up a total of five runs in his first six career starts. He walked one and struck out six.

The Brewers jumped on Abbott for two runs in the first inning on three consecutive doubles by William Contreras, Adames and Owen Miller.

Wiemer extended the lead with one out in the second inning with a two-run homer to left-center field. The 397-foot blast was Wiemer's 12th of the season.

Elly De La Cruz recorded the Reds' first hit against Burnes with a leadoff single in the fifth. After Jake Fraley struck out, De La Cruz stole second and scored on Votto's two-run blast 417 feet to right-center field.

The Reds have homered in 21 consecutive games, tying the franchise record set in 1956.

Milwaukee answered in the bottom half of the fifth on Adames' two-run homer off Abbott.

Cincinnati avoided further damage in the sixth inning when Adames fouled out and Owen Miller flied out after Milwaukee loaded the bases with one out.

The Brewers tacked on a run in the seventh inning when Victor Caratini singled in a run against Alex Young.

Wiemer and Contreras each had two hits for Milwaukee, which won despite going 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position.
