Pinch hitter Luis Torrens lined a walk-off single into right field with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th inning as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting New York Yankees 1-0 Tuesday night.

Seattle's Matt Brash (3-3) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the victory. The Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga (1-3) took the loss.

Both teams were 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position until Cal Raleigh's single to right leading off the 13th. Automatic runner Eugenio Suarez stopped at third. After J.P. Crawford tapped a grounder back to Loaisiga, the Yankees intentionally walked Sam Haggerty. Loaisiga got ahead 0-2 in the count, but Torrens still managed to deliver the game-winner.

The Yankees had runners thrown out on the bases in the 10th, 11th and 12th innings.

Andrew Benintendi was caught trying to steal third by pitcher Paul Sewald in the 10th, Miguel Andujar was doubled off second on a line drive in the 11th and Jose Trevino and Isiah Kiner-Falefa were both called out for leaving the basepaths after Brash snared a one-hopper in the 12th.

The game featured a showdown between right-handers Gerrit Cole and Luis Castillo.

Cole went seven innings and allowed four hits. He didn't walk a batter and struck out eight.

Castillo was making his T-Mobile Park debut after being acquired from Cincinnati before the trade deadline for three of the Mariners' top five prospects. He lasted eight innings and gave up three hits. He walked two and fanned seven.

The Yankees had just three hits.

Benintendi lined a two-out single to center in the first inning and stole second but was stranded when Josh Donaldson struck out.

Aaron Judge led off the fourth with a line-drive single to left. After Benintendi hit a pop-up to center, Donaldson grounded into an inning-ending double play.

Andujar hit a bloop single into left with one out in the eighth. Aaron Hicks then walked, putting a runner in scoring position. Both runners advanced as Trevino hit a chopper down the third base line, but Castillo got Kiner-Falefa to ground out to second to end the threat.
