Jorge Soler hit a go-ahead, two-run single as part of a five-run fifth inning, leading the host Atlanta Braves to a 6-2 win over the Miami Marlins on Friday night.

The Braves (75-65), who lead the National League East by 4 1/2 games, won for the fourth time in their past five games.

Braves left fielder Adam Duvall had his four-game homer streak snapped. However, the former Marlins standout extended his hit streak to nine games.

Marlins batters struck out 17 times as Miami (59-82) fell to 21-48 on the road.

Ian Anderson (7-5) earned the win, striking out nine batters in five innings. He allowed five hits, two walks and two runs.

The Braves got one scoreless inning from each of four relievers: Sean Newcomb, Luke Jackson, Tyler Matzek and Will Smith. Newcomb and Jackson each struck out the side.

Marlins rookie Trevor Rogers (7-7), who missed one month on the bereavement list and hasn't won a game since June 10, lasted just 4 1/3 innings. He allowed three hits, one walk and four runs. He struck out six.

Miami opened the scoring in the first. Bryan De La Cruz's dribbler became an infield single, and Jesus Sanchez blasted a 429-foot homer for a 2-0 lead. Sanchez's shot was so forceful that Soler never turned around from his position in right field.

The Braves scored five runs in that crucial fifth inning with the help of two Marlins errors on consecutive plays. Atlanta loaded the bases when Travis d'Arnaud doubled, Orlando Arcia walked and Guillermo Heredia was hit by a pitch. Ehire Adrianza's single cut Atlanta's deficit to 2-1, knocking Rogers out of the game.

Reliever Zach Thompson struck out Ozzie Albies, but, with two outs, Soler smacked his two-run single, and a third run scored when center fielder De La Cruz booted the ball. A throwing error by Marlins third baseman Isan Diaz gave Atlanta its final run of the inning.

Arcia added an RBI single in the eighth, closing the scoring.
