C.J. Cron stayed red hot with a home run and Antonio Senzatela pitched seven shutout innings as the visiting Colorado Rockies won just their second road series of the season with a 5-0 victory on Sunday over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cron's three-run home run in the first inning was his 10th home run in August alone and it also increased his major league-leading RBI total for the month to 33.

Senzatela (3-9), who entered with a career 7.08 ERA against the Dodgers, gave up just two hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

Despite the loss, the Dodgers are still 17-4 since Aug. 7, but two of those defeats came over a three-day span to the Rockies. Colorado has just 17 road victories this season, tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the fewest in the National League.

Sunday's meager offensive output for Los Angeles was another in a continuing trend, as they scored just two runs Friday against the Rockies, struggled to score in a 16-inning game at San Diego on Wednesday and had just two runs in a home defeat to the New York Mets last Sunday.

The Rockies went on the attack early against Dodgers right-hander Mitch White, who was recalled before the game. Brendan Rodgers singled with one out and Charlie Blackmon followed with a double to put two aboard.

With two outs, Cron ripped White's 2-1 fastball over the wall in left field for his 24th home run of the season.

White (1-2) gave up three runs on six hits over 3 1/3 innings with two walks and six strikeouts. In his previous major league outing on Aug. 18 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he delivered 7 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.

The Rockies added two runs in the seventh inning on just one hit as Rio Ruiz brought one home on a sacrifice fly and Trevor Story scored on a Shane Greene wild pitch. Story doubled earlier in the inning to end an 0-for-24 dry spell.

Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner made his first career appearance as a pitcher with a scoreless ninth inning, giving up two singles.

It was the Rockies' first shutout against the Dodgers since Aug. 31, 2016, at Denver.
