Walker Buehler pitched into the eighth inning, and Trea Turner had a pair of hits and scored twice as the Los Angeles Dodgers extended their winning streak to eight games with a 3-2 victory over the visiting New York Mets.

Buehler (13-2) gave up two runs on six hits with no walks and eight strikeouts. It was his eighth consecutive start of allowing two runs or fewer as he makes a second-half pitch for the National League Cy Young Award.

Justin Turner, Max Muncy and Corey Seager each drove in a run for the Dodgers, who have won 12 of their last 13. Five of the eight victories in the winning streak have come against the Mets.

Pete Alonso hit a home run for the Mets, who have lost seven of their last eight, a run that started last weekend when they were swept at home by the Dodgers. Alonso also had an RBI infield single in the eighth.

Less than a week after he was rocked by the Dodgers to the tune of six runs and three home runs over two innings, Mets right-hander Carlos Carrasco (0-2) was much improved Friday, giving up three runs on five hits over five innings.

Wearing their all-blue city-connect jerseys, the Dodgers looked comfortable early, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI groundout from Justin Turner. It scored Trea Turner, who doubled and moved to third on a fly ball by Muncy.

The Dodgers increased the lead to 3-0 in the third inning, getting an RB double from Muncy and an RBI single from Seager.

Buehler cruised through the first three innings, giving up just one hit, but was greeted by Alonso's line-drive home run to right-center field to open the fourth inning. It was Alonso's 27th of the season.

The Mets cut the deficit to 3-2 in the eighth inning against Buehler when Patrick Mazeika and Brandon Nimmo singled, each advanced on a wild pitch, and Mazeika came home on an Alonso infield single that barely traveled 45 feet. Left-hander Alex Vesia walked Michael Conforto but escaped the jam by striking out J.D. Davis.

Buehler was ejected by home-plate umpire Nestor Ceja after he was removed from the game by manager Dave Roberts.

Los Angeles closer Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 26th save.
