Albert Pujols hit a two-run home run against his former team and Walker Buehler pitched an effective six innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers earned an 8-2 victory at home Sunday over the Los Angeles Angels.

Cody Bellinger hit a home run for the Dodgers and AJ Pollock had three hits with two RBIs one day after his 14-game hitting streak and 23-game on-base streak ended with a pinch-hit line out.

In his second career outing, Angels left-hander Reid Detmers (0-2) gave up five runs on seven hits over five innings with two walks and five strikeouts. Phil Gosselin and Jo Adell had RBI doubles for the Angels.

Pujols did not start Sunday, but came on as a pinch hitter in the second inning for Justin Turner, who left with left groin discomfort. The 21-year major league veteran hit a 3-0 pitch from Detmers into the seats in left field to give the Dodgers a 5-0 advantage.

It was Pujols' ninth home run for the Dodgers in 55 games after he hit five with the Angels in 24 games before he was released in May. It was also Pujols' fifth career home run against the Angels and first since 2007 as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Dodgers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single from Max Muncy and a run-scoring fielder's choice by Turner. Pollock had an RBI single in the second inning for a 3-0 lead before Pujols hit his home run.

Gosselin got the Angels on the board with his RBI double in the third, with Pollock getting that run back with another RBI single in the sixth off Angels left-hander Packy Naughton, who was making his major league debut.

Bellinger's home run in the seventh inning was his seventh and gave him homers in consecutive games. Adell's RBI double for the Angels in the eighth came off right-hander Kevin Quackenbush, who was making his Dodgers debut.

Buehler (12-2) gave up one run on four hits over six innings with eight strikeouts and four walks, which tied a season high. Dodgers left-hander Justin Bruihl made his major league debut in the eighth and got out of a two-on, one-out jam before pitching a perfect ninth.
