Fernando Tatis Jr. hit two home runs and right-hander Yu Darvish went seven strong innings as the San Diego Padres earned a 6-1 victory Friday over the host Los Angeles Dodgers to take the first two games of a four-game series.

Tatis' multi-homer night came 22 years to the day that his father, Fernando Tatis Sr., hit two grand slams in the same inning at Dodger Stadium, both off Chan Ho Park, while playing for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Tatis Jr. hit his solo home runs in separate innings against Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw.

Wil Myers also hit a home run as the Padres defeated the Dodgers for the third consecutive time after losing the first two games of the season series last week.

Max Muncy had an RBI single for the Dodgers. Kershaw (3-2) gave up three runs on five hits over seven innings with a walk and seven strikeouts while allowing his first three home runs of the season. Los Angeles has lost four of its past five games.

Darvish (2-1) gave up one run on four hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. It was his third consecutive start, two of them against the Dodgers, in which he allowed one run over seven innings.

Muncy connected on an RBI single to right field in the first inning off Darvish for a 1-0 lead.

Myers got the Padres even in the second inning, connecting off Kershaw for a home run to left-center field, his fourth of the season.

Tatis gave the Padres a 2-1 lead in the third with a one-out home run to left-center on Kershaw's first pitch. That lead increased to 3-1 in the fifth when Tatis went deep into the seats down the left field line. It was his fourth home run of the season.

The Padres added three insurance runs in the ninth on an RBI single from Tommy Pham, a run-scoring fielder's choice from Jurickson Profar and an RBI infield single from Tatis.
