Kyle Seager hit a two-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Cincinnati Reds 4-3 Tuesday night.

Kyle Lewis, making his major league debut, and Dylan Moore also homered for the Mariners, who snapped a six-game losing streak that equaled their longest of the season.

Rookie Brian O'Grady hit his first major league homer for the Reds.

Trailing 3-2, Austin Nola drew a two-out walk in the eighth off Reds reliever Michael Lorenzen. With the left-handed hitting Seager coming to the plate, Cincinnati manager David Bell turned to left-hander Amir Garrett (4-3). Seager hit a 3-2 pitch over the wall in right-center field for the winning margin.

Seattle right-hander Dan Altavilla (1-0) got the win, and Anthony Bass pitched a clean ninth for his third save of the season.

Both starting pitchers were in line for decisions when they left the game.

Reds right-hander Trevor Bauer went 6 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on three hits. He walked three and struck out eight.

Mariners left-hander Justus Sheffield, seeking his first major league win, allowed one run on seven hits in six innings, with three walks and four strikeouts. He was aided by a defense that turned four double plays.

The Reds opened the scoring in the second inning. With two outs, Phillip Ervin tripled into the right-field corner, and Freddy Galvis followed by grounding a run-scoring single into left field.

Bauer opened with 4 1/3 hitless innings before Lewis tied it with a 426-foot homer deep into the Mariners' bullpen in left-center field.

Lewis was Seattle's first-round pick, No. 11 overall, in the 2016 draft after earning the Golden Spikes Award as the top collegiate player at Mercer University. Bauer won that same award while at UCLA in 2011.

Moore gave the Mariners a 2-1 lead when he led off the sixth with his eighth homer of the season. Seattle managed just three hits after being one-hit Sunday in a 21-1 loss at Houston, the worst defeat in franchise history.

Pinch-hitter O'Grady's two-run shot in the seventh gave the Reds a 3-2 lead.

Lewis was the 64th player to appear in a game for the Mariners this season, tying the major league record set by the Texas Rangers in 2017.
