Gio Urshela hit a two-run homer to spark a six-run third inning off David Price and the New York Yankees completed a four-game sweep over the visiting Boston Red Sox with a 7-4 victory Sunday night.

The Yankees won their fifth straight and completed their first four-game sweep of the Red Sox since Aug. 6-9, 2009. The Red Sox dropped their eighth straight game and fell 14 1/2 games behind the Yankees in the American League East and 6 1/2 games behind Tampa Bay in the wild-card race.

The Yankees held a 1-0 lead on Aaron Judge's first-inning homer and busted it open in a 28-minute inning that saw them get six straight two-out hits off Price (7-5).

Urshela made it 3-0 by lifting a 1-1 breaking ball over the left-center fence and off an advertisement in the back of Boston's bullpen.

Two batters later, Cameron Maybin roped an RBI double off the left-field wall to score Brett Gardner, who had also doubled. Maybin then scored two pitches later when rookie Mike Ford lined a single up the middle.

The Yankees kept the inning going when Kyle Higashioka doubled down the left-field line and took a 7-0 lead on Mike Tauchman's two-run single to right field.

Price was knocked out after issuing a walk to Gleyber Torres and was given a mock standing ovation by fans, who earlier were chanting "Who's Your Daddy" in reference to his recent stint on the paternity list.

Price was rocked for seven runs and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings. He is 1-7 with a 9.61 ERA in eight starts in New York since signing with the Red Sox before the 2016 season.

Christian Vazquez and Michael Chavis hit back-to-back homers off J.A. Happ in the fifth for Boston, which dropped to 4-11 in the season series. Andrew Benintendi hit a two-run single in the sixth that knocked out Happ.

Happ (9-6) also returned from the paternity list and allowed four runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings with two strikeouts and one walk. He sailed through four innings before allowing the homers.

Luis Cessa struck out Chavis with two on to end the sixth and pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Chad Green pitched a scoreless ninth and converted his second save.

The start of the game was delayed for more than an hour due to the threat of rain in the area, though it never rained. It was the 20th game in which the Yankees were affected by some kind of delay or postponement.
