Stephen Strasburg allowed just one run on two hits in seven innings and added an RBI single, and Anthony Rendon had three hits and three RBIs as the Washington Nationals surged past the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-4 Sunday, avoiding a three-game series sweep.

Strasburg (14-4), who has won seven straight starts, now leads the majors in victories as he fanned nine, walked none and hit two batters. He has allowed just four earned runs this month and has six RBIs in July.

The Nationals scored three runs in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead as Brian Dozier hit a two-run homer and Rendon had an RBI single to score Victor Robles, who tripled.

Washington added four more in the sixth off starter and loser Walker Buehler (9-2), who gave up seven runs (four earned) in 5 1/3 innings.

Strasburg had a single with the bases loaded to make it 4-1, and two runs scored when the next batter, Trea Turner, hit a grounder to first base. Dodgers first baseman Joc Pederson threw the ball to home for a possible force, but the ball got past catcher Will Smith as two runs scored. Rendon added another RBI single for a 7-1 advantage.

Rendon had a two-run single and Juan Soto had a two-run homer in the eighth to make it 11-1.

Strasburg didn't allow a hit until the fifth, when A.J. Pollock lined a shot down the left field line for a double. Pollock eventually came around to score on a double by Matt Beaty for a 1-0 lead.

The Dodgers got a three-run homer by Corey Seager in the ninth off Michael Blazek to make it 11-4.

Nationals right fielder Adam Eaton and manager Dave Martinez were ejected in the last of the first inning by home plate umpire Jeremie Rehak.

Eaton took a 3-1 pitch that appeared to be high but was called a strike, and he walked more than halfway to first base before returning to the box. He then struck out swinging and had words with Rehak, who tossed him. Martinez came out to argue and then was ejected, with bench coach Chip Hale taking over for Martinez and Robles entering the game to play in the outfield.

Washington's Matt Adams was hit on the foot by a pitch to lead off the second inning and hobbled down to first base. With two outs, Dozier hit a double to deep left and Adams was thrown out at home to end the inning. After Adams struck out in the fourth, he was replaced by Howie Kendrick.

The Dodgers had won 21 of their past 35 game at Nationals Park.
