Christian Vazquez hit a two-run homer, Xander Bogaerts also drove in two runs and the visiting Red Sox completed a sweep of the three-game weekend series with a 6-3 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.

David Price (7-2) labored through five innings but picked up the victory. Price threw 99 pitches in five innings while giving up one run on four hits and striking out six. Heath Hembree got the last three outs for his second save.

J.D. Martinez added two hits and scored twice.

The Tigers used a series of relievers. Gregory Soto (0-3) pitched the first two innings, allowing two runs on three hits.

Brandon Dixon smacked his team-high 12th homer for Detroit. Nicholas Castellanos had two hits and drove in a run.

Detroit has gone 6-25 since the beginning of June.

Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera was ejected after the first inning for arguing balls and strikes.

The Tigers scored a run in the first. Victor Reyes led off with a single and scored when Castellanos doubled down the left-field line.

Boston took the lead the next inning. Martinez led off with a single. One out later, Vazquez drilled a homer to right-center. The Red Sox had a chance to add to their lead in the inning but Mookie Betts popped up with runners in scoring position.

The Tigers had a threat going in the fourth with two out and two on but John Hicks flied out to right.

The Red Sox extended the advantage to 5-1 against Nick Ramirez in the fifth. Marco Hernandez singled and Betts walked. With two down, Bogaerts drilled a double down the left-field line to bring in both runners. Bogaerts advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Andrew Benintendi's opposite-field single.

Detroit shortstop Jordy Mercer led off the fifth with a double but was left stranded as Price retired the last three batters he faced.

Martinez doubled to lead off the eighth and scored with two outs on a wild pitch.

The Tigers responded in the bottom of the inning with Dixon's two-out, two-run homer.
