Ian Desmond returned to Texas with two home runs, Nolan Arenado had three hits, including a homer, and the visiting Colorado Rockies rallied to beat the Rangers 9-5 on Friday night at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Trevor Story had two hits and two RBIs for Colorado, which had 13 hits a day after being no-hit for nearly seven innings in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Jurickson Profar and Joey Gallo homered and Adrian Beltre had two hits for the Rangers, who have lost seven straight.

Texas looked like it would cruise to the win after a big first inning. Profar got things started with a two-run homer, his seventh, to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead.

Beltre singled and Rougned Odor followed with a walk, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa singled to drive in Beltre but Odor was thrown out at third. Gallo then hit his 18th homer to give Texas a 5-0 lead.

The Rockies came right back in the second inning. Desmond, who played the 2016 season with the Rangers before signing with Colorado as a free agent, led off with a home run. Gerardo Parra reached on a fielder's choice following a Tom Murphy single, and one out later Noel Cuevas singled.

DJ LeMahieu and Charlie Blackmon had RBI singles and Arenado had a two-run double to tie the game at 5. Trevor Story then lined an RBI single to left to score Arenado for a 6-5 Rockies lead.

Desmond extended the lead with a solo homer in the fifth, his 14th of the season, and the Rockies made it 8-5 when Arenado and Story had back-to-back doubles in the seventh.

Arenado, who came into the game on an 0-for-18 stretch, hit his 13th homer leading off the ninth.

Rockies starter Chad Bettis (5-1) survived the rough first to go 5 2/3 innings. He struck out six and walked three to get his first win in seven starts. Bettis last recorded a win on May 5 at the New York Mets.

Yohander Mendez (0-1) lasted just three innings in his first major league start (11th game overall). He allowed six earned runs and only struck out one before being lifted after 72 pitches.
