The San Diego Padres worked Corbin Burnes for a season-high three walks plus a hit batter and scored four runs on just two hits against the Brewers' right-hander en route to a 7-1 win at Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Padres starter Joe Musgrove and relievers Tim Hill, Craig Stammen and Emilio Pagan held the Brewers to one run on two hits as San Diego improved to 13-2 over its last 15 games. Musgrove didn't allow a hit until Lorenzo Cain singled to center with two outs in the fifth.

Hill (3-2) got credit for the win. Burnes (2-4) took the loss.

The Padres' first run scored without the benefit of a hit, as Victor Caratini stole home on the back end of a double steal.

Burnes, who had issued only two walks in 40 1/3 innings coming into Tuesday's game, retired the first six Padres before Caratini drew a walk to open the third. Burnes then hit Ha-Seong Kim with a pitch. Caratini moved to third on Tommy Pham's deep fly to right.

With two outs and runners at the corners, Kim took off for second. As Brewers catcher Omar Narvaez threw to second, Caratini broke for the plate and scored as shortstop Willy Adames' throw sailed to the first-base side of the plate. The ball got away from Narvaez, so Kim advanced to third and later scored on Jurickson Profar's single -- the Padres' first hit of the game.

The Padres extended their lead to 4-0 in the sixth after Pham and Profar drew back-to-back walks to open the inning. Pham moved to third on a Burnes wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly to center. Profar stole second and scored on a two-out single by Eric Hosmer.

San Diego added two more in the seventh against reliever Eric Yardley, on a single by Kim, a pinch-hit RBI double by Brian O'Grady and an RBI double by Profar.

Travis Shaw put the Brewers on the board in the bottom of the seventh with a solo homer to right off Stammen. It was Shaw's sixth homer of the season.

Fernando Tatis circled the bases without the benefit of a hit in the top of the eighth -- drawing a walk from Josh Lindblom, stealing second, moving to third on a groundout and scoring on a wild pitch.

Burnes gave up a season-high four runs on two hits, three walks and a hit batter with seven strikeouts in six innings -- marking the first time in eight starts this season that he didn't have at least nine strikeouts. Musgrove gave up a hit, a walk and a hit batter with six strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
