Jurickson Profar and rookie Seth Brown drove in three runs apiece and the Oakland Athletics beat the New York Yankees 8-2 Friday night at Yankee Stadium.

Profar homered in the second inning off CC Sabathia and then snapped a 2-2 deadlock with a two-run double down the right-field line off Tommy Kahnle (3-1) in the sixth.

Profar's go-ahead hit occurred two innings after he was unable to keep his foot on the second base bag attempting to turn a double play on a ball hit by Austin Romine.

Brett Gardner slid in and Profar's foot came off the bag as he threw to first. Originally it was ruled a double play but the Yankees challenged, and following a review of 2 minutes, 16 seconds, the call was overturned and New York had the bases loaded, leading to its second and final run.

Brown produced his big night after entering the game as a pinch hitter in the sixth.

Brown hit a game-tying double to the right-center field gap after Kahnle opened the sixth by allowing a single to Matt Olson and hitting Mark Canha with a pitch.

Canha added an RBI triple in the seventh off Cory Gearrin and Brown hit an RBI single in the inning to make it 6-2. Marcus Semien padded the lead by starting the ninth with his 25th homer, Olson doubled and Brown singled to drive him in and make it 8-2.

Profar's big night helped Oakland improve to 4-0 against the Yankees this season. The A's also won for the 11th time in their last 15 games and improved to 28-15 since the All-Star break.

Oakland left-hander Brett Anderson (11-9) beat the Yankees for the first time in seven career decisions, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings. Anderson struck out one, walked two and recorded 14 outs on the ground during an 86-pitch outing.

Yusmeiro Petit followed Anderson with two perfect innings and Blake Treinen finished up as Profar ended the game by making a diving stop on Romine's grounder up the middle.

New York's only runs came via groundouts. The Yankees tied the game on a groundout by Didi Gregorius in the third and went ahead on a double-play grounder by Mike Tauchman in the fourth.

Sabathia allowed one run and one hit in three innings before exiting with right knee discomfort. The Yankees said no tests were performed on Sabathia, who has been on the injured list twice this season with right knee injuries.

Luis Cessa pitched two scoreless innings before Kahnle faltered in the sixth.
