Trey Mancini's two-run double highlighted a three-run second inning that gave Baltimore the lead for good as the Orioles defeated the visiting Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 Sunday afternoon.

The Orioles' second straight win gave them a split of the four-game series. Baltimore has won or split its last three series and owns a 14-14 record in its last 28 games.

Tom Eshelman (1-2) earned his first major league victory with five innings in relief following opener Jimmy Yacabonis. Eshelman gave up four runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.

Shawn Armstrong pitched the ninth for his fourth save, striking out Teoscar Hernandez swinging with two on and two outs to end it.

Sean Reid-Foley (1-2) took the loss, allowing four runs (one earned) on four hits and four walks in four innings.

Toronto threatened in the first but couldn't capitalize. With the bases loaded and one out, Justin Smoak flied to Anthony Santander in left. Santander then threw out Lourdes Gurriel Jr. at third for the third out, just before Cavan Biggio scored on what would have been a sacrifice fly.

The Orioles took a 1-0 lead in the first on Jace Peterson's two-out bloop single to shallow left field.

The Jays tied it in the second on Hernandez's RBI single, but Baltimore retook the lead for good with three unearned runs in the bottom half.

Rookie shortstop Bo Bichette made an error on a two-out Jonathan Villar grounder that let the tiebreaking run score. Mancini then added his two-run double to give Baltimore a 4-1 lead.

Smoak made it 4-2 with an RBI groundout in the fifth before Chance Sisco and Chris Davis both drew bases-loaded walks off Yennsy Diaz in his major league debut in the bottom of that inning.

Bichette and Biggio started the seventh with back-to-back homers. That ended Eshelman's day, and the Blue Jays cut the lead to 6-5 later that inning on Randal Grichuk's RBI double off rookie Dillon Tate, who then wriggled out of trouble and held the lead.
