Lance Lynn pitched eight strong innings, and the visiting Texas Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0 on Friday night for their sixth straight win.

Rougned Odor had three hits and an RBI for Texas, and Ronald Guzman had two RBIs.

Lynn (10-4) allowed three hits, struck out 10 and walked one while reaching double digits in wins for the seventh straight season. He left after throwing 112 pitches in his longest outing of the season in terms of innings.

The right-hander won his third straight start. He hasn't taken a loss since May 27 while lowering his ERA from 4.66 to 4.00.

Jose Leclerc pitched around a ninth-inning walk to complete the shutout.

Coming off a marathon 18-inning, 5-2 victory at Minnesota on Thursday, the Rays didn't manage an extra-base hit until the eighth inning in losing for the 12th time in their past 17 games.

Tampa Bay starter Yonny Chirinos (7-5) allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Nomar Mazara walked to open the Texas second. One out later, Asdrubal Cabrera walked, and after Odor's RBI double scored Mazara, Guzman followed with a two-run double into the right field corner to make it 3-0.

Texas added an unearned run on the third when Mazara walked and later scored from second base on a throwing error by Chirinos after an infield single by Joey Gallo.

Willy Adames doubled off Lynn to open the eighth and reached third on a wild pitch with one out, but Lynn struck out Guillermo Heredia before Brandon Lowe popped out.

Odor singled to open the ninth and was later removed for pinch runner Danny Santana. Santana advanced to third on two groundouts and scored on Shin-Soo Choo's single.
