Travis Jankowski scored one run on a balk and homered two innings later, propelling the San Diego Padres to a 3-2 victory Wednesday night over the host San Francisco Giants.

Right-hander Luis Perdomo worked three shutout innings in his first start since a demotion to the minors, and the Padres limited the Giants to five hits, winning the series two games to one.

Aramis Garcia hit a two-run home run for the Giants, who won the season series 11-8 from the Padres.

After Freddy Galvis had tripled and scored in the third inning to open the game's scoring, Jankowski nearly single-handedly made it 2-0 in the fifth. He reached on an infield single, took second on a throwing error by Giants pitcher Casey Kelly, advanced to third on an infield out and scored when Kelly committed a balk.

Jankowski's homer, a solo shot, came in the seventh and gave the Padres a 3-0 lead. The long ball was his fourth of the season.

Perdomo gave up just one hit and no walks. He struck out four before handing off the ball to Brad Wieck and Miguel Diaz, who combined for three additional shutout innings.

Garcia's homer, his fourth of the season, came against the Padres' fourth pitcher, Jose Castillo. It came one out after Joe Panik had led off the seventh inning with a walk and got the Giants within 3-2.

San Diego reliever Matt Strahm stranded the potential tying run and go-ahead runs in the seventh. Trey Wingenter worked around a leadoff single by Hunter Pence in the eighth, and closer Kirby Yates struck out pinch hitter Evan Longoria with two on and two outs in the ninth to protect the one-run lead.

Despite issuing a pair of walks in his only inning, Yates was credited with his 12th save. Diaz (1-0), who pitched the fifth and sixth innings, got the win.

Kelly (0-3) went five innings for the Giants, allowing two runs and six hits. He struck out three and did not walk a batter.

Jankowski, who added a triple in the ninth inning, finished with three hits for the Padres (64-95), who have won four of their past seven games.

Galvis added a pair of hits.

Abiatal Avelino collected two hits for the Giants (73-86), who had rebounded from a 5-0 loss in the series opener to win 5-4 on Madison Bumgarner's walk-off hit on Tuesday.

The Padres out-hit the Giants 8-5.
