David Dahl homered for the second straight night, Carlos Gonzalez had a two-run, pinch-hit double and the Colorado Rockies beat the Philadelphia Phillies 10-3 in Denver on Tuesday.

DJ LeMahieu had three hits and two RBIs for Colorado, which won its fifth straight game and jumped over St. Louis into the second National League wild-card spot. The Cardinals lost 12-4 to Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Colorado (87-70) also kept its hopes alive for winning the NL West. The Rockies are a half-game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (88-70), who lost on a walk-off home run at Arizona.

Scott Kingery had two doubles and an RBI for the Phillies (78-79), who have lost six in a row. Philadelphia is 10-25 since Aug. 18.

Colorado started the game with Chad Bettis on the mound and a plan to limit him to 40 pitches. He left trailing 1-0 after Odubel Herrera knocked in Cesar Hernandez with a two-out single in the third.

DJ Johnson (1-0) got the final out of the inning to earn his first career win. The Rockies used seven relievers to get through the game.

Colorado came right back in its half of the third inning after Vince Velasquez (9-12) got the first two outs. Charlie Blackmon and LeMahieu singled, and Dahl, who had three hits and four RBIs, followed with his 12th home run of the season just over the outstretched glove of left fielder Dylan Cozens.

The Rockies scored three more runs with two outs in the fourth. Blackmon doubled to drive in the first run, LeMahieu's single scored another and Nolan Arenado made it 6-1 with an infield single.

The Rockies tacked on two more runs in the fifth on Gonzalez's double, but Philadelphia came back in the sixth with two runs. Kingery's double drove in Cozens.

Colorado put the game out of reach with two runs in the seventh on RBI singles by LeMahieu and Dahl. The Rockies scored eight of their 10 runs with two outs.
